Tiffany Crowe Confirmed as Permanent Director of the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection

Tiffany Crowe received unanimous confirmation as the permanent Director of the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP) by the District of Columbia Council on November 7, 2023.  She was appointed as the Acting Director on September 7, 2023 by Mayor Muriel Bowser.

On October 1, 2022, the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) transitioned into the District’s newest agencies, DLCP and the DC Department of Buildings (DOB).

Director Crowe now holds the noteworthy distinction of becoming DLCP's first permanent Director.

"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be the first permanent Director of the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection! Our entire team is excited to continue the critical work we started eight short weeks ago. We have already expanded our Business Resource Center, and we are continuing to implement new regulations intended to stimulate business growth, protect consumers, and promote the overall economic health of the District of Columbia," said Director Tiffany Crowe. "Thank you for your support as we work to accomplish our simple mission: support businesses and protect consumers."
