Legislative Affairs and Policy

Legislative Affairs and Policy

The Legislative Affairs and Policy Division acts as the primary liaison between DLCP and the Council of the District of Columbia, external stakeholders, other government agencies, and community groups. The division advances DLCP’s mission to protect the economic interests of businesses, residents, and visitors by:

  • Proposing legislative and regulatory amendments
  • Reviewing and responding to legislative proposals related to business licensing, occupational and professional licensing, corporations, and consumer protection
  • Developing internal policies that guide and shape DLCP operations
