DC Health Food Manager’s Certificate Details
All applicants for a Basic Business License for a Food Services Business, must have a Certified Food Protection Manager, who is responsible for ensuring food safety in food establishments by actively overseeing food handling practices, hygiene, and sanitation. Their duties include monitoring food preparation, storage, and service to prevent contamination, as well as supervising employees to ensure they follow food safety regulations. A CFPM must be present during all hours of operation to address food safety risks, correct any unsafe practices, and ensure compliance with health department standards. They play a critical role in maintaining a safe environment to protect public health.
