Tax Registration & Certificate of Clean Hands Details
During the Basic Business License application process, all applicants must certify that no more than $1,000.00 is owed to the District of Columbia Government as a result of fees, penalties, interest, or taxes. Your tax number must be registered with the DC Office of Tax and Revenue, register your tax number with the Office of Tax and Revenue via MyTax.DC.gov. When a customer comes in to obtain a license in-person they are required to have the Certificate of Clean Hands.
