Fall Reminder: Leaf Blower Regulations
The Leaf Blower Regulation Amendment Act is in effect!
Since January 1, 2022, gasoline-powered leaf blowers have been prohibited in DC. This impacts both landscapers and residents with gas-powered blowers. Violators can face fines up to $500 per offense.
If you see a gas-powered leaf blower being used, you can report it online with the appropriate details—just be sure to submit your complaint within 7 days.
Accountancy Rule Change Feedback
The Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP) wants to bring awareness to updates and changes to the Board of Accountancy's Accountancy Technical Amendment Notice of Proposed Rulemaking was recently published in the D.C. Register.
The proposed changes include:

Revising the experience requirements for CPA licensure.

Adopting the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy's revisions to the Uniform Accountancy Act Model Rule 5-7.

Removing references to four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination.

Making technical updates to the regulations.
