The Leaf Blower Regulation Amendment Act is in effect!

Since January 1, 2022, gasoline-powered leaf blowers have been prohibited in DC. This impacts both landscapers and residents with gas-powered blowers. Violators can face fines up to $500 per offense.

If you see a gas-powered leaf blower being used, you can report it online with the appropriate details—just be sure to submit your complaint within 7 days.

The Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP) wants to bring awareness to updates and changes to the Board of Accountancy's Accountancy Technical Amendment Notice of Proposed Rulemaking was recently published in the D.C. Register. 

The proposed changes include:

• Revising the experience requirements for CPA licensure.
• Adopting the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy's revisions to the Uniform Accountancy Act Model Rule 5-7.
• Removing references to four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination.
• Making technical updates to the regulations.

The DC Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection is pleased to inform you of valuable updates to the transfer process for the Real Estate Licensee community.

Now the Real Estate Salesperson Transfer process is easier. On Saturday, October 12th, the Transfer Request Process will be automated with online approval or denial requests. Other updates include:
